Update on planned new anti-union laws

Dear Member

Protect the right to strike - Fight the anti-strikes Bill

I wanted to provide you with an update on the Strikes (Minimum Service Levels Bill) which is continuing its way through Parliament and is now at the House of Lords Committee Stage. The first Lords debate (the second reading) on the minimum service levels bill took place on 21st February and we now have confirmed dates for the committee stage too - these will be 9th and 23rd March.

We will continue to fight this anti-democratic and draconian legislation in Parliament, in the courts, on the streets and in the workplace.

We continue to work with impacted unions and with the TUC. The TUC has asked us to circulate this survey so that they can mobilise Trade Union Activists to directly lobby some members of the House of Lords and take other actions to fight this bill.

Please take 2 minutes to fill out this TUC survey:

I will be in touch soon with other next steps that you can take to keep up the fight for our fundamental democratic and human rights to withdraw our labour.

Yours sincerely,

Michael Lynch
