RMT to pursue 'vigorous industrial campaign upon the commencement of train operations on RFLI'

Subject: ROSTERS – MAINTENANCE GRADES – RAIL FOR LONDON INFRASTRUCTURE

That we note a meeting has taken place and we instruct the General Secretary as follows:

  • That the imposition of a roster schedule and roster principles remains unacceptable in Maintenance.
  • The role of Prospect in Maintenance and TSSA in Operations also remains unacceptable and this union will to continue to demand access to the recognition agreements and collective machinery in order to negotiate and represent our membership.
  • In relation to the Roster issue the GS is instructed to demand from Prospect and RFLI an undertaking that they will not make agreements with RFLI without the involvement and consent of RMT. Further it is to made known to both parties that we continue to dispute the roster and the associated principles, as well as our lack of involvement in pay negotiations, and that we expect to pursue this issue with a vigorous industrial campaign upon the commencement of train operations on RFLI. A meeting with the Chief Executive Mark Wild is also to be arranged as agreed in previous correspondence.
  • To write to Bob Crow’s Branch and the London Transport Regional Council instructing them to organise a sustained recruitment and organisation campaign among Maintenance RFLI staff including open meetings to be addressed by RMT officers.
  • A personal letter to be sent to RFLI members outlining the position and assuring them that RMT intends to vigorously pursue recognition and representation within RFLI.”
