RMT Olympic Deal - C2C

OLYMPIC RECOGNITION & REWARD – C2C

I have now received a formal offer from c2c in respect to working during the London Olympics. The offer is as follows:

  • Retail Grades (at non event locations) and Cleaners who will have no changes to their usual terms and conditions during the period of the Olympic and Paralympic Games have been offered £250 Gross (pro rata for part time) as a special Olympic payment. This payment is dependent upon attendance at work during the periods of the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Retail Grades (at event locations), Train Captains and Revenue Protection Grades who will have changes to their usual terms and conditions have been offered £500 Gross (pro rata for part time) as a special Olympic payment. This payment is dependent upon attendance at work during the periods of the Olympic and Paralympic Games and additional changes in rostering/diagramming or duties.

Event locations are defined as West Ham, Leigh on Sea, Limehouse, Fenchurch Street and Barking.

The General Grades Committee has considered this matter and has taken the following decision:

“That we note the correspondence on file including the final offer from the company and the report from the Regional Organiser and the fact our Company Council Representatives have unanimously recommended acceptance of the offer with a view that it meets our member’s aspirations.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to write to the company advising them of our acceptance of the offer. Further the General Secretary is to write a personal letter to our members concerned informing them of this agreement.

Finally, in line with our Regional Organiser’s report, we note the thanks recorded by the Regional Organiser to our Company Council Representatives for their effort and support in regard to this successful outcome. Branches and Regional Councils to be advised.”

The company has been informed of our acceptance of this offer and I would be obliged if you will bring this to the attention of your members.
