Harmonisation Of Terms And Conditions At Thales

That we note the correspondence on file regarding Harmonisation.

Referring to decision GWW 26th April 2012 (Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2012 - Thales) where our members are to be balloted for Industrial Action, we instruct the General Secretary to commence an immediate ballot our affected members for strike action and action short of a strike on "Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2012" and "Harmonisation of Terms & Conditions", with a strong recommendation to vote YES on both questions. This ballot is to be undertaken in the minimum amount of time allowed to us by law.

Further the General Secretary is instructed to link files BR4/0001/T "Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2012" and BR4/1500 "Harmonisation of Terms and Conditions" and name this merged file as "Breakdown of Industrial Relations, Pay and Harmonisation Thales 2012".

The General Secretary is instructed to immediately write to Thales informing them that we are in dispute with them over these matters but remain available for further discussions in order to resolve this dispute.

This General Grades Committee is disgusted and appalled at the actions of Thales management for proposing attacks on our members terms and conditions, by increasing the working week by 2 hours which would not even count towards pensionable pay, the proposals to implement an inferior pension scheme in 2013, to cut shift allowances & overtime payments, reduce redundancy terms and changes in annual leave, whilst they make no offer on our submissions for an in increase in the basic rate of pay.

We deplore the actions of Thales management, which will clearly have a detrimental effect on our members.

Further the General Secretary is instructed to write to the TSSA advising them of this decision and seek their support and solidarity in this dispute.

The General Secretary is instructed to inform all our affected members by personal letter, text, email, to produce suitable propaganda in order to publicise the dispute and the disgraceful treatment of our members by Thales. A membership form is to be included in the personal letter to our members in order to assist with recruitment.

Relevant Branches and Regional Councils to be advised.
