Eight National Unions declare their support for Lindsey Oil Refinery workers

Press release...

John McDonnell MP, TUCG Convenor said:

"This dispute demonstrates the anger many workers feel when employers refuse to negotiate or seek arbitration"

"The Trade Union Coordinating Group calls upon the employers to enter into negotiations and calls upon the government to repeal the anti trade union laws which only serve to exacerbate the current poor industrial relations climate."

Bob Crow, General Secretary, RMT said:

"RMT gives full support to the workers sacked and locked out of Lindsey by contractors using European law to hammer down pay and conditions. This dispute is a massive test for the whole trade union movement. RMT stands side by side with the workers at the heart of the fight. The core
principles of our movement should be upheld. You don't cross picket lines."

Brian Caton, General Secretary, POA said:

" On behalf of the whole of the POA, it's membership and Executive Committee we pass on our full support to all workers who have been victimised and sacked . Our thoughts are with all the workers at Lindsey and their families"
