Bob Crow Writes To London Underground To Set Out Our Stance On Tube Olympic Agreement

"RMT have made it very clear therefore that no member should be forced to breach the current framework agreement if they so choose." - Bob Crow

.I write in response to your letter dated 30th May 2012, in which you raise concerns over a copy an RMT newsletter for RMT Train Operators. In addition I am most concerned and alarmed that a copy of our correspondence has been made available to appear in ASLEF newsletter dated 1 st June 2012. I shall respond to the points you have raised in turn:-

1. The £500 agreed lump sum payable to Train Operators applies to all staff in these grades and not dependant on particular duties worked. This was made absolutely clear at the ACAS talks.

2. The RMT Olympic agreement states if there is a shortfall of volunteers at depots there must be a level 1 meeting called to address these issues. RMT has not agreed to breach the current Framework agreement.

3. In relation to the Olympic Duty Allocation RMT, I have received reports that LUL are imposing framework breaching duties onto drivers who have not volunteered for those shifts. In addition RMT level 1 reps are being denied proper release to consult and agree rosters in relation to Olympic duties.

4. RMT have made it very clear therefore that no member should be forced to breach the current framework agreement if they so choose.

As you aware talks are being arranged to reconvene at ACAS as soon as possible in order to resolve these matters and other outstanding issues.
