RMT Activist Recruitment Training Day

Dear Colleagues

Representatives/Activists One Day Training

The RMT are arranging local courses for all reps and activists for recruitment/retention and mapping.

The courses will be run local to branches in the London Transport region and are for 1 day.

All reps should try to attend as we believe this course offers local reps guide and assistance on managing members in their areas and can aid in improving recruitment.

WEA Courses 2015

Now is the time to book a course with the Workers' Education Association (WEA).

Here are some of the upcoming courses:

  • Union Representatives Stage 1
  • Health & Safety Representatives Stage 1
  • Certificate In Employment Law (stage 2 Union Reps)
  • Next Steps For Safety Representatives (stage 2 H&s Reps)
  • Union Learning Reps Stages 1 And 2
  • Diploma In Employment Law
  • Diploma In Occupational Health & Safety
  • Diploma In Equalities

Reps and Branch Officials Courses

The following RMT Education courses will be taking place in our region in the near future. The introductory reps course is ideal for newly elected reps (all types) who have not completed their Stage One TUC or RMT course. It is also of great value to activists, who may wish to be a rep in the future and to help build a stronger workplace. All courses are funded by head office, so there is no cost to the branch or the region.

TUC Guide 'Autism In The Workplace'

RMT rep Janine Booth has written a guide to autism in the workplace for the TUC - their first ever guide on this subject.

Autism is a term covering a wide range of conditions that reflect neurological differences among people. It can cause social barriers which may affect the lives of people with autism at work. There are about 332,600 people of working age in the UK with autism. However, only 15 per cent of adults with autism are in full-time employment and only 9 per cent are in part-time work.
