What is a National Executive Committee decision?
This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.
These decisions can often be brief, and may be one of several passed over a period of time. To get a better understanding or find out more information about what the RMT is doing, speak to your rep or attend your branch or Regional Council meeting.
Subject: RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 LONDON UNDERGROUND
That we note the report from the Lead Officer on yesterday’s pay talks where the company advised us that we must withdraw all items of our pay claim in return for a
one year bare RPI offer of 2.5% (RPI February 2019).
This is a derisory offer and manoeuvre by London Underground and is unacceptable to this union. Accordingly; we instruct the General Secretary to:
- To write to London Underground advising them of our formal rejection of the offer. Further stating that unless the offer is significantly improved then it’s is likely that a dispute situation will exist between our respective organisations
- To remain available for further discussions with the company with a view to reaching an improved position
- To call an urgent meeting of our 2 nd Stage London Underground representatives in order to discuss the offer and potential further steps in the campaign
- To prepare an industrial action ballot matrix of our London Underground members
- To produce appropriate materials and propaganda to support the aims and objectives of the campaign
- To send a circular/RMT mail/text to relevant branches and members to advise them of the latest developments
Members to be advised by email & text.
All LU branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.
