Tube Power Strike Suspended

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS – POWER CONTROL OPERATORS – LONDON UNDERGROUND

I write to advise you that following further negotiations with the company at ACAS, your Executive Committee has decided to suspend all industrial action that was due to commence tomorrow 24th May 2014. Therefore all members are instructed to work normally .

Last ditch talks have made real progress. The issue of continuity of service has been resolved and the outstanding Health & Safety issues are being addressed and progressed satisfactorily through the machinery. The issue of proper payment for training duties and parity in the grade for all will continue to be addressed and these talks will commence with immediate effect. To ensure the validity of our ballot we have agreed a ballot extension which will allow us to call further action should talks fail.

I would like to thank you for your support and solidarity in opposing the outsourcing of your work and the fight for reinstatement of your length of service. It is your determination which has forced London Underground back to the negotiating table.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash - RMT Acting General Secretary
