This AGM notes the elections to local councils in May.

Councils across the country have been implementing cuts with devastating effects on council services and council
workers.

We call on Councils to refuse to implement cuts, as socialist Labour Councils did in Poplar in the 1920s and Clay
Cross in the 1970s, securing significant victories for working-class people.

We note that a small number of councilors were elected in May on a platform of refusing to implement cuts. We
support their stance, and welcome initiatives to link up and support these councilors. We encourage other councilors to
take the same stand. CARRIED
