Operational Effectiveness Programme – London Underground
from RMT General Secretary Bob Crow
I write to advise you that following the magnificent 80% vote in favour of action, the General Grades Committee has decided to call the below action short of a strike in the above dispute.
With effect from 00:01 hours on Friday 28th October 2011 until further notice, Train Operator and Instructor Operator members are instructed: -
- Not to co-operate with the new Operational Effectiveness Procedure, and to use the previous procedure, for carrying passengers over shunt signals.
- Not to co-operate with the new Operational Effectiveness Procedure, and to use the previous procedure for reversing a train.
- To follow procedures at platforms appropriate to the category of that platform prior to the imposed re-categorisation of platforms.
- Not to follow the imposed procedure to override the sensitive edge equipment and proceed with just a visual check on the S stock on the Sub-Surface lines.
I urge members to fully support this action. We must force management to reverse this potentially disastrous policy which clearly devalues long established safety procedures.
