Night Tube, Pay & Pensions Update for Tubelines AP JNP

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE, NIGHT RUNNING AND PENSIONS – TUBE LINES AP JNP (LUL/0001/TL)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/150/16, 26th May 2016), the recent ballot result where members voted overwhelmingly in favour of taking industrial action prompted the Company to agree to talks at the conciliation service ACAS. The meeting took place between the General Secretary, Lead Officer and Senior LUL management on Thursday 9th June giving a proposed way forward to resolve the current dispute, which would address Pay and Night Tube and access to the TfL Pension Scheme.

It seems that we are now at a level where talks may result in significant progress being made in respect of these long running disputes. Management are prepared to share the work done so far over costs for bringing Tube Lines members into the TfL Pension Scheme and will work with RMT to form a proposal which can be presented to the TfL Executive next month.

The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and taken the decision to seek an extension to our ballot mandate, which has now been agreed and received, to enable these constructive talks to take place. There will be regular report back meetings with RMT Reps to review the progress made in the talks and to ensure that industrial action is taken if and when necessary.

The next meeting at ACAS is arranged for Friday 24th June and I will keep you informed of all developments.
