'Fit For London': TfL's Propaganda to Staff

RMT General Grades Committee decision:

We note the correspondence from London Underground and the report from our Regional Organiser.

Transport for London is to run a series of events for staff which they state “will explain our vision, strategy and future priorities for TfL and our operational business”. These events will involve staff in London Underground and other parts of TfL.

With the recent publication of documents which reveal that TfL’s “vision, strategy and future priorities” involve cutting jobs, attacking our members’ conditions, and reducing safety standards, we can expect that these events will be used by TfL to circulate propaganda to staff to encourage them to accept these attacks.

We therefore instruct the General Secretary to obtain a report on the content of these events, in order that we can have the fullest possible knowledge of the company’s intentions and counter management propaganda.

We rename this file ‘FIT FOR LONDON’ - LONDON UNDERGROUND / TfL’.
