DLR Strike Ballot Over Poor Pay Offer

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS (DLR/0001/KAD)

In line with Union policy, a claim was submitted for a substantial increase in rates of pay and improvements to conditions of service. Following discussions with the Company, a report was received from the Lead Officer, along with further correspondence from the Branch Secretary, advising that the Company had failed to table an offer in line with our members’ aspirations.

This matter was considered by the General Grades Committee and I have now advised the Company that a dispute situation exists between us and we will be balloting members for strike action over a failure to table a suitable pay offer, a failure to resolve Health & Safety issues which has led to several members recently suffering an injury at work and reports of RMT members being bullied by management.

The ballot papers will be posted to members on Thursday 23rd April and the closing date for this ballot is Tuesday 12th May 2015. I will keep Branches advised of all further developments.
