RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015 – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS CONTRACT) (DLR/0001/I(KAD))
Further to my previous Circular (IR/321/15, 23rd December 2015), the industrial action was suspended and the offer received from the Company was due to be discussed at a DLR Branch meeting. This Branch meeting has now taken place and the matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted the correspondence on file and that the Company has been informed of our acceptance of the offer.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/029, 5th February 2016), this matter has again been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted correspondence from the Branch advising of additional issues arising from Interserve’s implementation of changes to cleaning agreements as follows:-

A report has recently been received from the Regional Organiser advising that Interserve Management on the KAD contract have imposed fundamental changes to the terms of our cleaning members. To make matters worse the new arrangements were imposed this Monday while discussions were still at a very early stage without proper consultation with the union being conducted.

Over 50 Interserve cleaners, Tube workers from other grades, and supporters held a noisy protest outside Interserve's head office on Tuesday 15 December, exposing the Scrooge-like practises of the cleaning contractor, which routinely short-pays its workers.
Transport union RMT has secured a massive pre-Christmas pay victory for key groups of staff working for outsourcing company Interserve on London’s Docklands Light Railway.
After RMT put on a package of strike action and action short of a strike further negotiations have been held with Interserve on the pay issue.
As a result of the industrial pressure the company have now agreed to a 75p per hour increase for all cleaning supervisors, travel safe and security staff, backdated to April 2015.

Further to my previous Circular (IR/243/15, 13th October 2015) the RMT negotiating team met the Company on Tuesday 22nd December and a revised and improved offer was received which includes a payment to address the pay differentials, certain tasks to be performed by Security staff and a commitment from the Company to continue talks with RMT into 2016 to discuss any other matters of concern.
Underground cleaners, working for giant facilities company Interserve, will be taking a protest over pay and conditions to the employers HQ at 1-3 College Hill , London EC4R 2RA at 15.00hrs next Tuesday the 15th December.
