RECRUITMENT AND ORGANISATION
Team to discuss targeting of promotional drivers to meet next week.
We agreed to calculate density in each workplace ie. percentage of staff who are RMT members. Branches to co-ordinate reps to obtain this information. Dave Rayfield to collate results.
DECISIONS OF LAST REGIONAL COUNCIL MEETING
Mayor Johnson and 'Chicken Feed' - agreed to hold protest at City Hall, Tuesday 29 September, 5pm
Swine flu - noted that these demands are in place in London Underground, but unsure about other companies in the region - have experienced difficulties obtaining this information from head office despite repeated requests.
Annual leave monitoring of Trains Functional Council reps (referred from Regional Council) - agreed.
Affiliation of branches with London Overground members - sent to General Secretary (as I understand it, this has been agreed by the Council of Executives)
Economic crisis - agreed to advertise demonstration at Labour Party conference on our website and in newsletter, to chase up the production of the new LTRC banner, and to ask branches to fund members to attend (with the Regional Council considering funding if branches unable to).
EARLIER DECISIONS
Fighting the BNP - badges distributed; agreed to pay Barnet TUC for the travel costs of the eight RMT members who travelled to the anti-BNP protest on their coach.
REGIONAL ORGANISER'S REPORT
Steve Hedley reported on: pay - LUL; TfL; CBS Outdoor; Cubic; Alstom. Believed strongly that LUL pay offer is not good enough and RMT can not accept it. Discussed tactics on how to go forward.
Also raised in discussion: DLR; Woolwich ferries
CORRESPONDENCE
Agreed to support Workers' Climate Action conference, Saturday 10 October
