LONDON UNDERGROUND COVID 19 CHARTER

A report on working conditions on LUL has been considered by the National Executive Committee (NEC). The Lead Officer reports that new variant Covid is showing a massive increased rate of contagion which is having an immediate and direct impact on our members in LUL/TFL. We have been made aware that three members of LUL staff have recently died as consequence of Covid. There are many more staff isolating and reporting sick. We believe there will more deaths and some will be RMT members.

RMT has advised TfL/LUL at the highest level that any attempt to attack members' jobs or conditions will be met with industrial action

TfL financial review "a disgraceful document that seeks to justify imposing job cuts"

22nd December 2020

Dear Colleague,

INDEPENDENT PANEL REVIEW - TRANSPORT FOR LONDON

TfL recently released the full report from the Independent Panel Review, commissioned by the Mayor, which focuses on increased funding and cost-savings. RMT attended a meeting regarding the report and the Union has already made it clear to TfL that this review is an attack on staff.

RMT responds to 'independent panel' report on TfL finances

Subject: INDEPENDENT PANEL REVIEW – TRANSPORT FOR LONDON

“That we note the report from our lead officer.

The report of the so-called “independent Panel” is a disgraceful document that seeks to justify imposing job cuts, transport service cuts and additional taxation onto the working class of London. RMT rejects the report entirely and demands that the mayor immediately does the same and undertakes not to act on any of the report’s findings.

LUL are refusing to send staff home after a workmate reported a positive Covid-19 result

RMT, the Tube’s largest union, today condemned London Underground for its dangerous policy on Covid-19.

LUL are refusing to send staff home after a workmate reports a positive Covid-19 result. This includes staff who would have been working with their colleague potentially for many hours per day and up to 8 days in a row together.

The policy flies in the face of Government guidelines that clearly state that you MUST isolate for 14 days if you have been in contact with a Covid-19 positive person and face a fine if you knowingly don’t.

General Secretary Mick Cash said:

"The speculation that the Government are threatening to take direct control of TFL sounds like more  bullying by this administration designed to impose their will on Londoners and ride roughshod over local democracy.
