New leaflet: RMT membership standing firm!

A clear message was delivered by LUL/TfL RMT members at Monday’s Friends House Mass Meeting.

This is because LUL management are stonewalling in negotiations so much, that they’ve actually moved backward on some issues that were near resolution with the pre-strike deal mysteriously pulled by management at the last minute on 9th June!

• JOB SECURITY: Management are still trying to rip up the agreement we won through strike action in 2001, for instance: even arguing that the word “all” doesn’t really mean all; where the in the document the wording says: “... This agreement applies to all staff employed on LUL, the Infraco’s and their subsidiaries…” Well, WHAT ELSE can it mean then?!

• BULLYING: Management have recognised their need to return to the proper administration of the disciplinary & AAW procedures, but indicated they will not consider the various cases where staff have clearly been sacked while procedures were being misused. A truly childish & spiteful way to carry on!

• 2009 Pay: This may be moving the right way, but still has some way to go before it stops being a 2 year pay cut in real terms. That is despite record profits, productivity and passenger journeys on the tube, through YOUR WORK!

UNITE HAVE NOW BEGUN TO BALLOT THEIR MEMBERS OVER PAY, AND A RECENT METRO OPINION POLL FOUND THAT 60% OF THE PUBLIC SUPPORT THE RIGHT OF TUBE WORKERS TO STRIKE!

AN INJURY TO ONE ~ IS AN INJURY TO ALL!
