Docklands Light Railway Strike Off

The RMT General Grades Committee has agreed to accept pay offers from Serco Docklands AND Carlisle. As a result all strikes are called off.

We congratulate all members for their resolve in their campaign for a decent pay settlement on Serco, for the London Living Wage on Carlisle and the commitments forced from the company on the other matters involved in this dispute.

RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said: “Following the receipt of improved offers on pay and across range of other issues, RMT’s executive has now been able to consider the details of the proposals from Serco and Carlisle and as a result the decision making body of the union has agreed to suspend the planned industrial action on Serco/Docklands Light Railway and Carlisle cleaners and security that was due to commence tomorrow.

“The union congratulates our members across the Docklands Light Railway whose solidarity and determination has enabled them to secure important victories on pay, conditions and workplace justice.”

What is a National Executive Committee decision?

This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

These decisions can often be brief, and may be one of several passed over a period of time. To get a better understanding or find out more information about what the RMT is doing, speak to your rep or attend your branch or Regional Council meeting.
