Dear RMT members,

This afternoon we met the Managing Director and other directors of TfL to discuss the Covid 19 virus and its impact on our members of all companies working on the underground during the current crisis.

We offered the support of the RMT during this time on the mutual basis that the management would back and support the staff in all companies: LUL, ABM and others. We listed serious concerns over cleaning, staff welfare and support. Vulnerable staff should be supported. Parts of the underground could be closed if it's needed, taking in-house all cleaning as well.

We have agreed to keep in contact via the recognised Health and Safety committees and Health and Safety reps from all parts of LUL and TFL should contact their management counterparts. Senior H and S reps should and will be in contact with management on a daily basis.

As we were in the meeting the prime minister made his most current announcement about social interaction. The TfL executive went into session to consider next steps in response to it.

During this current crisis, which is developing at all times, the RMT will continue to support each and every member. Please contact your Health and safety reps for further advice, as well as following the RMT online by searching 'RMT'.
