In response to the companies statement from TfL’s Head of Occupational Health that stated “where people need to work closely to each other (within two meters) they can continue” we implore you to not take unnecessary risks.

Please do not interpret this in such a way that leads you to think this is ‘business as usual’. It is NOT ‘business as usual’ and there are multiple ways to change how we do things SAFELY without putting each other at risk.

On March 26th the RMT joined with Aslef and LUL management in an ad-hoc TFC meeting, the vast majority of which was spent discussing the effects of Corona Virus (CV) on drivers. The RMT recognises that we are living in extraordinary times and that to achieve the safest outcomes for our members we have to engage in constructive discussions. However, we refuse to make hasty decisions which may create short-term benefits but result in serious problems in the future. LUL put a number of proposals to us, some of which we agreed to consider and we will return to further talks on Tuesday 31st.

Petition to Reinstate Ezra

Whilst we are working tirelessly to maintain good industrial relations at this difficult time our colleague remains dismissed, this is not good for him nor our critical workers who need every bit of support getting to where they need to by qualified and hardworking people like Ezra.

RMT slams grossly irresponsible "business as usual" lines from government on London Underground

RMT General Secretary Mick Cash said:

"At a time when we are trying to encourage people to stay away from the tube so we can concentrate on moving essential workers the government call ‎to reinstate a full service is grossly irresponsible as it suggests it's business as usual. You will know that your union had rejected two “full and final” offers on pay from London Underground, to cover the years commencing on 1st April on 2019-2022. These offers were rejected as your representatives expressed the anger and concern of you and your colleagues as the offers did nothing to address issues of fatigue and excessive working hours or the spiralling cost of living.

Covid-19 crisis update
Today the RMT THSC took part in a conference call with LU to discuss the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and
measures that were being put in place to reduce risk to all parties.

In response to this crisis emergency timetables are now in place so as to allow key workers to get around. This plan has clearly not worked with trains, especially early in the morning, carrying large amounts of people making social distancing impossible.
