Video: Night Tube strike update

On the eve of the first of several proposed Night Tube strikes, Regional Organiser John Leach updates members.

In the video, John explains: "After 6 months of trying to explain and persuade London Underground management that you cannot abolish 200 positions, rip up an agreement that protects our members work life balance, and their right to not have to do these {Night Tube} duties if they can't, we have to stand up and be counted."

DEFENDING JOBS & AGREEMENTS - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

All LUL members have solidly supported the long-running dispute to ensure that jobs are protected by demanding that LUL provide assurances that there will be no reduction in headcount, no changes to terms and conditions or to the employer without agreement and that all vacancies are filled immediately.

RMT Circular - Tube Pay Offer

Dear Colleagues,

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2025 - LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/0001)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/375/25, 20th October 2025), the meeting between all LUL IR Reps, the Lead Officer, National Executive Committee and Senior Assistant General Secretary took place to discuss the final offer received from LUL, in bold below:

RMT secures three-year no strings pay deal on London Underground

RMT has won a three-year pay deal on the tube following strike action and sustained negotiations with the employer.

The union also managed to secure commitments addressing work-life balance among staff, including "fatigue friendly" rosters, further discussions on staff travel, and a consistent Boxing Day payment of £400.

The deal will keep pace with the Retail Price Index of inflation, protecting the value of RMT members’ wages over the next three years.

London Underground dispute update - we demand more time away from work

19th September 2025

Dear RMT Member

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2025 – LONDON UNDERGROUND

Your RMT negotiating team met with LUL on Wednesday this week and again today and has welcomed LUL’s clarification on the offer on Boxing Day working: A minimum payment of £400 will be paid and no conditions will be attached in any function. Where better arrangements are already in place, these will remain unchanged.

RMT insisted that management now address other areas of our claim including:

Defend RMT members right to stay

Dear colleague,

Defend RMT members' right to stay - Demonstration - Wednesday 17th September 8am

On Wednesday, RMT is demonstrating outside the Home Office against recent changes introduced by the Government to the eligibility rules for the Skilled Worker Visa.

These unfair and arbitrary changes, introduced with virtually no notice mean that a number of RMT members, including some employed by TfL are now at risk of deportation when their current visas expire, which for some members is in a matter of months.

No new offer from Tube management

Dear RMT Member

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2025 – LONDON UNDERGROUND

I wrote to you yesterday (3rd September) following the talks with London Underground, stating that no new offer has been made and therefore the strike action would remain on.

I received correspondence from London Underground this morning, claiming to be a new offer – and this is a claim that they have gone on to make in the media today.
