RMT lawyers ask police to investigate News of the World phone hacking suspicions in respect of General Secretary Bob Crow

RMT lawyers ask police to investigate News of the World phone hacking suspicions in respect of General Secretary Bob Crow

Lawyers acting for transport union RMT have this morning written to the Metropolitan Police asking them to investigate suspicions that General Secretary Bob Crow’s phone may have been hacked in to by the News of the World on occasions between the year 2000 and the present day.

RMT’s lawyers have also asked the police for disclosure of any evidence or information that they may have from their previous or current investigations that may confirm suspicions that Bob Crow’s phone is amongst those that have been hacked.

RMT General Secretary Bob Crow said:

“RMT has had suspicions that journalists may have had access to private information as to my movements and my union’s activities that date back to the year 2000 and our lawyers are now asking for the police, as part of their renewed investigation, to disclose to us any evidence or information that they may have uncovered in respect of the News of the World.”
