TfL pension fund annual general meeting

Dear Colleagues,

TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL) PENSION FUND - ANNUAL MEMBERS MEETING 2020

At a time of economic uncertainly due to the current world health crisis it has never been more important that workers continue to protect and where possible improve their terms and conditions.

Part of these members' terms and conditions are pensions and while there are many of our members facing an uncertain future this union is committed to continue protect our members deferred pay.

You will be aware that due to the current crisis TfL are currently in discussions with the Government in respect of funding of LUL and while we are not aware of any proposal to reduce or change our members pensions in respect of the TfL Pension Fund I am sure like many of you it would be reassuring if we knew that our members future retirement income was safe.

Therefore I would advise you that the TfL Pension Fund Annual Members Meeting (AMM) will take place on Friday 16 October at 11:00. As many of you will already know this meeting gives our members of the scheme the opportunity to ask the trustees and their advisors questions and raise any concerns they may have.

The RMT believe that it has never been more important that as many members as possible participate in the AMM due to the uncertainly we currently face and while there will be many of our members who have already taken their benefits from the TfL Pension Fund I would urge all members of the fund whether they are still contributing or already retired to attend this meeting.

As a consequence of the current pandemic the meeting will be held remotely where you will have the opportunity to participate online, using your smartphone, tablet, or computer. I have attached with this circular details on how you can join the AMM. I have also included a website link below which will allow you to obtain further details of the meeting including the AMM agenda.

Again I would ask all members of the TfL Pension Fund whether you are still working or a pensioner to join this meeting and where appropriate ask any questions or raise any concerns they you may have.

Yours sincerely,

Mick Cash
General Secretary
