The RMT National Black & Ethnic Minority Member's Conference 2018 takes place on the 21st to 22nd March in Pierhead, National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Bay CF99 1NA.

RMT National Black & Ethnic Minority Members’ Conference 2018

I am pleased to inform you that the 2018 National Black and Ethnic Minority Members’ Conference will take place in the Pierhead, National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff Bay CF99 1NA on Wednesday 21 March (starting at 1pm) to Thursday 22 March 2018 (concluding at 4pm).  There will also be a special event the evening before, Tuesday 20 March from 7pm, to celebrate the 25 years of our B&EMM Advisory Committee and recognition of our B&EMM activists.

Branches and Regional Councils are entitled to nominate a maximum of four delegates each. Nominations must be made on the attached form, which should be returned to Head Office by 21 February 2018.  

Branches and Regional Councils are also invited to submit motions for the agenda of the Conference which should be relevant to the concerns of black and ethnic minority members throughout the transport industry and must conform to Union policy. All motions must be received at Unity House by 21 February 2018at the latest.  In addition to the above, invitations would be welcome from Branches and Regional Councils to host the 2019 Conference.   

Branches and Regional Councils need to confirm with delegates that they are up to date with their subscriptions and what arrangements can be made towards their expenses before nominating.  A £35 per delegate payment is made to Branches, up to a maximum of seven, i.e. £245 per Branch per year, payable in respect of delegates to a Grades Conference or the RMT National Women’s, Young Members’, Health and Safety, Black and Ethnic Minority Members’, LGBT Members’ or Disabled Members’ Conference.
