Accidents at work and Return To Work Interviews

This advice is taken from the attached posters.  If you are off work sick and need advice, talk to your RMT rep as soon as possible.

Reporting an accident at work

We work in a dangerous environment and accidents happen.  Sometimes these accidents will be immediately serious and there will be no doubt of the impact, other times an incident may seem less serious initially, but could develop later into something that necessitates time off of work.

Station worker disciplined for suffering verbal assault

Subject: DISCIPLINARY. S. KYEI-DONKOH, CSA, PICCADILLY CIRCUS – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the resolution from our Bakerloo Line Branch; and are appalled at the company’s unfair treatment of Sister Kyei-Donkoh where instead of supporting her following a verbal assault; they have instead misapplied the disciplinary procedure and are continuing to do so; with her disciplinary hearing outcome due to be announced on Tuesday 26 th February 2018.

Urgent meeting called over Harvinder Billing wrongful dismissal

Subject: DISMISSAL, HARVINDER BILLING, CSA2, HEATHROW – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the resolution from Piccadilly & District West Branch regarding the dismissal by the company of Bro Harvinder for allegedly not carrying out procedure
around ticket office accounting, when he has never been trained in the procedure as no training exists for CSA2s.

RMT prepares ground for ballot of all drivers to defend unfairly sacked brother Bailey

That we note that the recent meeting of Train Operator Industrial Reps required a combine wide Train Operators ballot following numerous demands from other branches across the tube combine for re-instatement of Bro Paul Bailey.

We instruct the General Secretary to prepare a ballot matrix of all Train Operators and Operator Instructors across all lines on the London Underground combine, and to ensure an effective dispute escalation campaign is undertaken in preparation including:

LU: reinstate brother Mahoney or we will ballot for industrial action

Subject: BULLYING BY MANAGEMENT, METROPOLITAN LINE SOUTH COVER GROUP – LONDON UNDERGROUND

That we note the report from our Lead Officer; that the issues of bullying and maltreatment of our members remains unresolved.

We also note the company has undertaken to review the dismissal of Bro Mahoney, and state here and now that unless Bro Mahoney is re-instated without delay; this union will issue them the notice and commence a ballot of our members for industrial action(s).

Central Line drivers to strike to defend Paul Bailey

That we note following consulting our members in both Central Line East & West Branches our members wish to undertake strike action in defence of their victimised brother Paul Bailey. We therefore instruct all Train Operators and Operator Instructors not to book on for shifts from 00:01hrs to 23:59hrs on Wednesday 7th November 2018. Members to be advised by email and text. Central Line East & West Branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.
