Happy 150th Birthday To The Underground? Maybe Not For The Transport Museum
Submitted by admin on 26 January, 2013 - 15:47Happy 150 birthday? Support staff at London Transport Museum - what you can do.
London Transport Museum is suffering from a reduction over four years of 25% of its grant from TfL - £1.5 million. The Museum is very successful at attracting funding and raising income from its shop, ticket sales, events and sponsorship, but the withdrawal of this grant (an eighth of total funding) has a significant impact at a time when arts funding has been drastically cut. The admission price has risen to £15 and staff, who have just been involved in the fabulous historic Tube 150 steam runs, now wait for news of another reorganisation.

Driving in Manual When Not In Service
Submitted by admin on 22 January, 2013 - 18:54At yesterdays Health & Safety tier 2 meeting it was agreed that on TBTC lines when working a train out of service station skip would not be used and T/Ops would manually start trains at every station.
At the present time when auto is not permitted T/Ops drive in protected manual and we maintained that this should remain the case.
Management suggested that T/Ops could have a choice to either work the train in auto or PM and we have said we will take this away and discuss with the Reps on the lines concerned.
