PAY FOR PERFORMANCE, DEFEND YOUR PENSIONABLE PAY – TRANSPORT FOR LONDON (TFL/0001)

All TfL members are commended for refusing to accept the Company’s “Pay for Performance” proposals. The on-going industrial action short of a strike as below is solidly supported and I urge all TfL members to continue taking part in the following industrial action:-

  • Not to work beyond your contractual hours. This includes all non-contractual overtime, refusing out of hours phone calls, taking full meal breaks and VDU breaks.
  • Not to buddy or mentor agency staff within Customer Experience roles.
  • Not to volunteer for Travel Ambassador duties or any other duties outside your Job Description.
  • Not to participate in the Performance and Development Review process.

Your union continues to demand a decent pay offer and full pensionable pay for all TfL employees. However the unacceptable proposals still include one off lump sum pay rises which would not count towards pensionable pay and therefore reduce members’ final salary pensions. The annual pay award would be placed at the discretion of managers and no longer fully negotiated with your recognised trade union and any pay rise would be determined by a punitive and discriminatory “individual performance” process leaving members at risk of bullying and harassment.

The proposals are nothing less than a concerted attack on the future of the TfL Pension Fund which affects all staff, regardless of grade. Talks are on-going and I urge all members to fully support the industrial action to demand a fair deal for all.
