What is a National Executive Committee decision?

This article is an 'executive decision' which has been written by the RMT National Executive Committee. The National Executive is the union's governing body in between AGMs. Its decisions set out what the union will do on a particular issue.

RMT continues ACAS talks over Four day week

We note the report from our Lead Officer that the letter 26.8.17 from the company regarding “progress” made at ACAS which is somewhat exaggerated and makes claims about concessions that were not made in the ACAS meeting.

Regarding the request contained in the letter that the union end the dispute; this is not currently possible and we remain in dispute at this stage.

However, this NEC notes that the letter extends invitation to further talks at ACAS during the week commencing 4th September 2017 which we will utilise to further press our demand that London Underground adhere to the commitments they agreed to and took upon themselves at the original pay talks which incorporated talks on the 36hr 4 day week for our train staff members.

Members to be advised by email and text.

Relevant Branches and the London Transport Regional Council to be advised.
