RMT to ballot all station grades following deplorable treatment of London Bridge 3

DISCIPLINARY – L. CORNELL, S. SOUISSI & D. SHARP – LONDON BRIDGE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/4/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/173/17, 21st April 2017), the National Executive Committee has again considered this matter and in light of the deplorable treatment of our three members and Brother Cornell’s failed appeal that was an utter miscarriage of justice, has taken the decision to escalate this dispute and ballot ALL Stations Grades (CSA, CSS & CSM) and Revenue Control Inspector members for strike action and industrial action short of a strike.

The Company has been advised accordingly, the ballot papers will be posted to members on Monday 15th May and the closing date for this ballot is Tuesday 13th June 2017. I urge all Branches and Reps to make every possible effort to ensure that members return their voting paper as it is imperative that we get a huge turnout and a ‘YES’ vote for action.

Also, as Branches are aware, all CSA, CSS & CSM members at London Bridge continue to take part in the following industrial action:-

  • Not to service POMs
  • Not to challenge customers who refuse to produce a valid ticket/oyster/bank card or permit for travel

I am sure all RMT members will show their support for colleagues at London Bridge during this action and also return a strong ballot result to stand together and demand the reinstatement of Brother Cornell and the withdrawal of sanctions against Brothers Souissi and Sharp.
