Piccadilly Drivers Balloted For Strike

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, PICCADILLY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/175/15, 23rd July 2015), members will recall the General Grades Committee took the decision to declare a dispute situation with London Underground over a catalogue of issues affecting Train Operator and Instructor Operator members on the Piccadilly Line, which include:-

  • Breaches of the agreed SPAD Management Processes.
  • Breaches of the Machinery of Negotiation.
  • Breaches of LUL’s attendance management policies and the application of an arbitrary capability/rainbow attendance management scheme which is not incorporated into any of LUL’s policies and not written down.
  • Issues regarding the opening of Cockfosters Depot including the familiarisation process and link & duty schedule issues which are the subject of a failure to agree and remain unresolved due to unsatisfactory progress made during negotiations.
  • A number of members are currently subject to spurious disciplinary action outside of the agreed CDI and LDI processes amounting to a campaign of bullying, harassment and intimidation on the Piccadilly Line.

The Company has been informed accordingly, ballot papers will be posted to affected members onTuesday 6th October and the closing date for this ballot is Tuesday 20th October 2015. If you know of a member who has not received their paper, please ask them to call the Freephone Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or e-mail info [at] rmt.org.uk.

I will keep you informed of all further developments.
