Hammersmith & City line drivers to strike over ongoing issues

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, TRAIN OPERATORS, HAMMERSMITH & CITY LINE – LONDON UNDERGROUND (LUL/14/2)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/263/16, 9th September 2016), our Reps recently attended a meeting at RMT Head Office to discuss the on-going dispute on the Hammersmith & City Line. The consensus was that despite management being well informed of the numerous issues leading to this breakdown in industrial relations, they have not been resolved and things have in fact got worse. As a result and having noted the views from this meeting, the National Executive Committee took the decision to call on all affected members NOT TO BOOK ON for any shifts that commence between:-

  • 21:30 hours on Tuesday 6th December 2016 and 21:29 hours on Wednesday 7th December 2016.

LUL management on this line remain belligerent in engaging with the Union in a productive manner, meetings are cancelled at short notice and there are continuous breaches of agreements and procedures to the detriment of members at Hammersmith Traincrew Depot and Edgware Road Traincrew Depot.

This matter will be considered again by the NEC on Thursday 8th December 2016 and I will of course keep you advised of all further developments.
