DLR cleaners to be balloted on range of issues

CHANGES TO CLEANING OPERATIONS – INTERSERVE FACILITIES (KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS) (DLR/15/4)

Further to my previous Circular (IR/029, 5th February 2016), this matter has again been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted correspondence from the Branch advising of additional issues arising from Interserve’s implementation of changes to cleaning agreements as follows:-

  • Imposing changes to rosters etc without concluding consultation with us
  • Contracts have not been given to staff despite numerous requests
  • Cuts in number of night staff
  • Changes to shift pattern to a ‘4 on 2 off’ pattern which affects members’ family life
  • Remote booking on
  • Travel expense increases
  • Earlier start times

I have advised the Company that we are in dispute over the above and will be balloting our members for strike action and action short of a strike. The ballot papers will be posted out to members shortly and I will keep you advised of all further developments.
