Broadsheet Created For Campaign Against Job Cuts

The RMTs new broadsheet 'We Can Stop Job Cuts' for the London Transport Region, is now available for distribution in workplaces. The RMT's London Region acting Regional Secretary said "Please could representatives make arrangements for collection accordingly for direct distribution into workplaces in accordance with the General Grades Committee’s decision. When you come, you will find a collection sheet and you are asked to put your name and workplace on it just so we know where the papers have gone.

Alternatively to collection, I can post them out to you if you email me back with the number of broadsheets required and your postal address in your message. this will save me having to interrogate the membership system for addresses and thus speed up the process."

We have set up a section of the website for this broadsheet which you can view here. In addition to the methods above, you can also contact us for copies - we will pass the email on to the relevant person.

From RMT General Secretary Bob Crow

DEFENDING LONDON UNDERGROUND JOBS & CONDITIONS

The above matter has been considered by the General Grades Committee and has made the following decision:-

“We note the report from the meeting with our representatives to discuss our campaign against service control job cuts. We welcome the comprehensive plan for pursuing this issue and instruct the General Secretary to offer any assistance required and to place in front of us a report of the follow-up meeting due to be held next month.

We further instruct the General Secretary to raise with London Underground Ltd the issues of our service control reps ‘right to access to workplaces and to use company facilities (including internal email) for legitimate trade union duties. A report on progress with this will be placed in front of us.

We further note that our ‘WE CAN STOP JOB CUTS’ broadsheet or LU staff will be delivered next week and instruct the General Secretary to ensure that it is distributed via visits to the maximum number of LU workplaces.

London Transport Regional Council, branches and representatives to be advised.”
