Trade Dispute Updates for EDF Energy, Stratford Depot - Alstom, Hammersmith and City Depot and Willesden Green Station Group Members

circular logoThis is an official RMT circular - IR/399/09 dated 13th of November 2009, from General Secretary Bob Crow.

RMT is currently in a number of dispute situations with various TfL employers that will necessitate ballots for industrial action. In addition to this there is of course the company wide dispute with LUL itself and I am carrying out the necessary checks for this ballot and hope to be in a position to report on progress next week.

Regretfully, this process has become even more complicated than before following a High Court ruling against us in respect of a recent ballot we conducted amongst our EDF Energy members.

Regional Organiser's report: Pay and more

Dear colleagues,

LUL - TfL - Alstom - Cubic - bus workers

LUL Pay

I attended the LUL company council meeting on the 08/9/09 and discussed the pay offer. There was no improvement whatsoever on the last offer. It remains 1.5 percent this year and RPI plus 0.5 percent next year. LUL are prepared to release our reps for a meeting and I am requesting Tuesday 6th October 2009 (one day after the ASLEF reps are released) to take a sounding on where we go.

Alstom: RMT Wins 2.5% Pay Rise - More for Lower-Paid Grades

Circular No. IR/253/09: RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2009 – ALSTOM METRO TRAINS

I can confirm that the General Grades Committee has accepted the following offer from Alstom on behalf of our members on the Northern and Jubilee Lines:

  • An increase in basic rates of pay of 2.5% with effect from 1st April 2009.

Loss of Earnings When Representing Alsthom Members.

This resolution, proposed by LU Fleet branch, was defeated at the February meeting of the Regional Council.

Within the L U Fleet Branch there are no problems representing members who work for Tube Lines and Metronet. However there is often a problem with appropriate representation where Alsthom is concerned, especially when it comes to the more difficult areas where a more experienced rep is necessary.
